Flood sacks over 200 residents in llorin

Over 200 families have been rendered homeless at the early hours of Friday, following flood that wreaked havoc at the Aduralere area of Ilorin. The flood was a result of a torrential rain which lasted for many hours. The Special Adviser to Gov Abdulfatah Ahmed on Emergency and Relief, Alhaji AbdulAzeez Ibrahim, who disclosed the number of the affected victims after a visit, said the havoc caused by the flood was devastating. Ibrahim told the News Agency of Nigeria in llorin on Friday that the state government will provide immediate succour to all the affected victims. Some of the victims including children, who spoke with NAN said they were taking refuge in Churches, Mosques and with neighbours who were not seriously affected. They called on the state government to come to their aid, saying that life had been very difficult since the flood rendered them homeless. Meanwhile, over 100 of the victims who are mostly youths, embarked on a peaceful protest, urging the state government to urgently come to their aid
