The Ondo State House of Assembly has passed into law, the bill for an act to establish Orange 94.5 FM Akure.
The bill was passed during a Plenary session of the house presided by the Speaker, Princess Jumoke Akindele, after members voted in support.
The Clerk, Bode Adeyelu read the bill for the last time on the floor of the hallowed chamber, as Chairman, Hiuse Committee on Information, Mr Olamide George, then presented his report on the bill for the house’s consideration.
In his report, Hon. George recommended that the station should continue to promote the culture, and characteristics of all interests in Ondo State and beyond.
He added that the station should continue to reflect the unity of the state and Nigeria as a federation.
The majority leader, Mr Ifedayo Akinsoyinu, m representing Ondo West constituency 2, moved the motion to pass the bill to third reading and was seconded by Mr Gbenga Araoyinbo, member representing Akoko North West constituency 2.
The speaker, Princess Jumoke Akindele commended orange fm for effectively propagating government’s activities and showcase ondo state to the rest of the world as the place of pride.
Princess akindele advised the managers of orange fm to ensure the station lives above board at adhere to the ethics of broadcasting.
Meanwhile, governor olusegun mimiko is expected to give his assent to the law for the final government seal.
