The PDP Reconciliation Committee, which was inaugurated by the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) on Saturday submitted its report.
The committee was set up to reconcile Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff to the party ahead if the National Convention.
The PDP was plunged into serious leadership crisis after the last national convention failed to conduct elections for principal officers of the party.
Sen Sheriff, since then, has paraded himself as the party’s national chairman, even though the governors and other leaders if the party continue to work with the Markafi-led Care Taker Committee which was mandated to organised the convention.
The reconciliation committee just presented its reports saying its recommendations will go a long way to resolve the crisis within the party.
Asked to give details of the report, Chairman of the Committee, Prof Jerry Gana, said the content will be made known after the BOT Chairman presents it to the BOT.
He said he can only assure all that the convention will hold and it will be an elective convention.
He also affirmed that the Committee met with Sen. Sheriff, but declined to comment on whether or not Sheriff is in agreement with the recommendations, adding that he can only assure all that the convention will hold and it will be an elective convention.
