Oyegun, Tinubu Faceoff: I Have Been Vindicated – Timi Frank

    Oyegun and Tinubu

As a fallout of the letter written by one of the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu where he called for the removal of the national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the deputy national publicity secretary, Comrade Timi Frank has said that he is vindicated after several calls he had made in the past about what he termed as “the ills” going on in the party.

Comrade Frank who agreed with the Senator Tinubu’s submission on the on-goings in the party especially as regards what transpired post Ondo primaries, further reemphasized his call for the immediate convocation of the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party so as to enable stakeholders investigate and get to the root of the various internal crisis bedeviling the party.

He said these when he granted an interview with journalists in Abuja even as he stressed that since the last NEC meeting where certain resolutions were made to resolve pending issues, nothing has been done by the Oyegun-led NWC towards addressing the issues so raised.

Frank said: “Again, today is another joy for me that truly God has practically vindicated me in my struggle to save my party the APC…It is very clear that I’m one of the first persons that took the bull by the horn to foresee what is happening today in our party. I’m came out earlier on to say that is issues and crisis in this party as at that time I was alone, nobody was knew where I was coming from.

“The founding father of our party, the national leader of our party has concurred to my earlier call that Oyegun should resign as the national chairman. That should let you know that I foresaw what they didn’t see.

“Today the BoT is not in place and an elders council, tell me today if I have issue where would I run to? Do I run to an NWC where Oyegun will preside over to drop my case that will not be answered? The answer is no. If you have a BoT or an elders council you can take your case there. We cannot run the party as a one-man show. Let me tell a lot of my colleagues are complaining, a lot even in the NWC.”

Comrade Frank called on Presisent Muhammadu Buhari to speak out on the issues affecting the party to save it from immenent collapse if the party is to have any headway come 2019 even as he gave the national chairman 14 days ultimatum to convene the NEC or he will lead concerned party stalwarts to a protest at the national Secretariat.
