Asiwaju Bola Tinubu
As the crisis rocking the All Progressive Congress (APC) continues in Ondo State with one of the front line aspirants at the primary election held September 3rd Chief Olusola Oke decamping to Alliance for Democracy (AD), the senator representing Ondo south senatorial district, Chief Tayo Alasoadura has called on the leader of the party Asiwaju to forgive them for the embarrassment they have caused him.
At a press conference held on Monday at the press centre, Adegbemile in Akure, the Ondo state capital, Alasoadura who had once been quoted to have said “Abolowo Tinubu” meaning we are free from Tinubu shortly after Chief Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) was declared winner said the former governor of Lagos state remains the leader of the party.
According to Alasoadura “reflecting deeply on recent happenings within our party, we will see glaringly the extent to which we have embarrassed ourselves and equally brought our national leaders into ridicule as a result of our action and utterances in pursuance of personal ambitions”.
He said while they will continue to appeal to aggrieved members and aspirants to come together and work for the party, the party does not have more time for internal wrangling.
“I strongly believe that there has not been a better time for the APC in Ondo state to harness its political strength, shift grounds to accommodate the differences of others for the purpose of giving to the people a good government they can trust.
“Now is the time to sink our differences and move forward as a united family to win in the November governorship election for our party by supporting the candidature of Barrister Oluwarotimi Akeredolu by all true democrats.
"Though some party members might have been aggrieved by the process that led to the emergence of Akeredolu, but we don’t have more time for internal wrangling,’ he said.
