The Ondo state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko has charged the Nigeria police to ensure adequate, fair and unbiased policing during the forthcoming election billed for November 26 in the state.
The governor spoke in Akure while receiving the assistant General of police, zone eleven, Dan Bature who paid him a courtesy call.
He said the people of the state are sophisticated and would not tolerate injustice.
He therefore enjoined the police to ensure that the votes of the electorate count by allowing one man, one vote.
The governor who said security is the substructure upon which development can be built, maintained that his administration in the last seven and the half years has invested heavily on security in the state.
He noted that all hot spots in the state had given way.
Dr Mimiko said Drivers' Union and its allied unions now conduct their elections in the state peacefully.
The Assistant inspector general, Dan Bature promised assured of providing a level plying ground for all gladiators.
He said the Nigerian police has the capacity to police the state during the electioneering processes.
The AIG said he was in the state to familiarise himself with the rank and file of the state command.
