Mimiko
The present administration in Ondo state has constructed over 175 kilometres of roads in the four local government areas of Akokoland of the state.
The state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko was speaking at Ikare Akoko during the flag off of 4.7 dualization of Ikare township road.
The Ikare township roads are notorious for accidents especially at Alabojuto hill to Olukare palace, occasioned by the hilly and slippery nature of the road section.
To put an end to this, the state government has awarded the dualization of a 4.7 kilometer township roads.
Flagging off the road project, governor Olusegun Mimiko said it was a fulfilment of his promise to the people of Ikare land.
He said government can no longer fold its arms and look at the danger caused by articulated vehicles on the road.
The governor said government would have embarked on the project but for the dwindling economy in the country.
He promised to bring the hills down and complete the project as scheduled.
Governor Olusegun Mimiko said in the last seven and the half years, his administration has constructed over 175 kilometers of road in Akoko land.
He said for the sustainability of his lofty projects, the people of Ondo state should vote for Mr Eyitayo Jegede.
He assured that the injustice against him will soon be reverted.
The state commissioner for Works, Mr Gboye Adegbonro said the road project was designed to meet international specifications.
Immediately after the flag off ceremony, works have commenced on the road project, the first phase is expected to be completed within three months.
Meanwhile, the Ondo state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko says the 27.5 kilometer Ajowa- Erusu- Arigidi-Ikare road will be completed soon.
The governor who monitored the road project expressed satisfaction with the level of work done.
The 27.5 kilometer Ajowa-Erusu- Arigidi- Ikare road is a federal one.
It is a boundary road between Ondo and kogi states.
For sometimes now, the road has been in a deplorable condition hence subjecting the people to hardship.
Not satisfied with this, the state government embarked on the construction of the road. As at the time of filing this report, the project has reached 75% completion.
Excited with this development, the state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko in company of the state commissioner for works Mr Gboye Adegbenro and some engineering experts visited the site.
Dr Mimiko expressed satisfaction with the level of work done. For motorists, it is now a jolly ride.
