Two months after its closure to legislative activities, the chamber of the Ondo State House of Assembly is expected to be reopened on Monday.
This follows separate meetings held with the two warring groups of lawmakers by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu at the weekend.
It is not yet clear the terms of agreement reached with each of the two groups. However, a source said the governor has resolved the matter.
Meanwhile, the source added that the members of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, who are in the Hon. Malachi Coker group may officially decamp to the All Progressives Congress, APC, this week.
The source added that the defection could hold at the Assembly chamber on Wednesday to pave way for the election of new principal officers of the House.
The source claimed that some of the 13 PDP members on the Speaker Jumoke Akindele group are also being wooed to decamp to APC so the party can have simple majority of the House.
As at today, the House of Assembly is made up of 21 PDP members and five APC members. That composition is expected to change drastically this week.
Efforts to confirm the defection plan from Coker yielded no result as the factional speaker declined comments when contacted on the matter today.
