Governments and Philanthropists including other peace loving stakeholders have been called to plan towards the protection survival, development and participation of children in the Hausa community in Children educational activities within Ondo state.
The Chief Executive Director of Kids and Teens, Mr Martins Mary Falana made this call during the launch of Comprehensive care and support for the vulnerable children held in Sabo Ares of Old garage, Akure, Ondo state.
Falana, whose organisation collaborated with the Restoration of the Dignity of Woman (ROTDOW) on the project opined that nothing stops the Islamic schools in participating in the National Children's Day activities.
He promised to mobilize resources to make the children growing in the community safe saying that he has identified few challenged that the community required attention.
The collaborative effort , he said would intervention in the dilapidated structures of the school within the community to make it a conducive learning environment.
The Chief Executive Officer of ROTDOW, Mrs Olabisi Omolona who spoke with journalists said the programme is aimed at encouraging the vulnerable children especially the girl child in their learning ability
This she explained would create their ability to compete with other children and their male counterparts.
Omolona called on Philanthropists in the state to also join in the project in helping the vulnerable people in the society while appealing for government help so that the Non governmentalOrganisation to reach more communities in the state.
A representative if the Ministry if Women Affairs and Social Development at the event, Mr Median Tophas applauded the organisation as government alone cannot do it.
Tophas has said the state is doing all it could to ensure good and better education to the children which he said they will continue to enjoy.
According to him, government engages the students in many children activities where they can interact and share knowledge.
Apart from this, Thopas said government did not only established the school for the deaf and physically challenge but also make education. Free to all the children in the state.
The Seriki of Hausa Community in Akure, Alhaji Babangida Sodiq Kusada, in his respond appreciated the two organisations for recognising them and the children.
He urged the state government to help them build a school within their community so that their children could directly benefit from all government children programme.
Kusada, was represented at the occasion by both the state Chairmen of Hausa Youths and Hausa Okadaa Union Alhaji Zayyanu Abdullahi and Alhaji Ismail Ali.
