President Muhammadu Buhari has described the extension of the tenure of Chief John Odigie-Oyegun as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress as unconstitutional.

According to information provided by the News Agency of Nigeria, Buhari said this at the ongoing National Working Committee meeting of the party in Abuja.
Odigie-Oyegun’s tenure was extended at the last NEC meeting of the party last month by one year.
This also affected the tenure of other levels of executives of the party.
Odigie-Oyegun had late last night at the National Caucus meeting of the party at the Presidential Villa in Abuja said the issue of his tenure was not discussed.
He said more important issues were discussed at the meeting presided over by Buhari.
