Report reaching our news desk indicates that 46 protesting students and parents have been arrested by men of the Nigeria police for allegedly attacking conveys of some top government's officials during the third day of the demonstration against tuition hike by the Adekunle Ajasin university, Akungba Akoko.
Confirming the arrest, the state police spokesman, Femi Joseph said they would be charged to court.
Some of the students who spoke with Radio Nigeria alleged that police open fire and teargas on them near governor's office at Alagbaka Akure during the protest.
However, the state Information Commissioner, Yemi Olowolabi insisted that the protest had been hijacked by politicians.
