Deep Seaport: Ondo govt partners Dutch firm on feasibility study, master plan

Ondo state government has singed an agreement with maritime and business transport solutions for the conduct as well as preparation of feasibility study and master plan design for the development of multipurpose deep sea port in ilaje council area of the state.

Speaking while performing the ceremony at the exco chamber of the governor's office, governor oluwarotimi akeredolu said the development is an attestation of his commitment to industrialise the state through seaport for the benefit of the people.

Represented by his deputy, Agboola Ajayi, the governor noted that the signing of the agreement is to implement the core cardinal programmes of his administration to boost the socio economic growth of the state by maximising its potentials.

The special adviser to the governor on investment and promotion, Boye Oyewunmi while stressing that the deep seaport will decongest the Lagos port noted that it will go a long way to boost the economic growth of the state through the mega city project that will house industries as well as other economic potentials.

In his presentation, the managing director of maritime business and transport solution limited, Paul van Eulem explained that the company will carryout preliminary study, feasibility study and do a comprehensive report at the end of its study that will last for ten weeks.

The deep seaport project will be completed between 10 and 20 years which will create thousands of job opportunities to the people of the state.
