JUST IN: ’50’ Chibok girls seen in new Boko Haram video

At least 50 Chibok schoolgirls were seen in a new video released by the Boko Haram sect.

According to the BBC, the girls wearing headscarves were behind a militant who demanded the release of fighters in return for the release of the girls.

The video reportedly showed the militant carrying out a staged interview with one of the girls, who called herself Maida Yakubu, and said she is from Chibok.

The girl is prompted by her interviewer to urge the government to release imprisoned Boko Haram militants.

“What I can say is that our parents should take heart,” she says in the Kabaku language. “Talk to the government so that we can be allowed to go home.”

This is the third video said to show the girls since they were captured.
