'I will sustain the free shuttle initiative in ondo state', says Jegede

   Jegede, distributing books in Akure

Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic party [PDP] in the Ondo November election, Eyitayo Jegede [SAN] has promised to sustain the free shuttle initiative of the present government.

Jegede was responding to the request of some school children  when ‎he flagged off his distribution of 30,000 exercise books to pupils and students across the 18 council areas of the state.

While flagging  off the distribution exercise at the Free shuttle terminal opposite St Louis Girls Grammar School, Akure, where over 500 school children benefited, Jegede said the gesture is a way of cushioning the effect of the present economic realities on parents as schools resume.

He assured the pupils that ‎beyond the sustenance of the free shuttle, his government will consolidate on other novel achievements of present government like the Mega Schools, 21s Century compliant  Secondary Schools and renovations where necessary.

" I want to assure the kids that we will not only sustain the Free shuttle which is arguably and the only one existing in the country today, we will expand its scope, procure more, build more Mega Schools, and World class Secondary Schools becuase we are using fresh ideas to do daring things in our quest to produce intellectual giants in the state.

Jegede said the books distribution programme is just a tip of the ice berg of his numerous lofty plans for school children and other strata of the state.

"I was at Arogbo Ijaw Ibe in Ese Odo Local Government Area of the state were I saw a World Class Mega built by the present government, and waiting to be commissoned. I unequivocally told the people to expect more from us as their location must not be a barrier for them in being a beneficiary of government's profound programmes and policies.

He assured that the distribution exercise will be replicated in all the remaining 17 council areas of the state.

Earlier, some of the school children obviously exicted to have a personal interface with Jegede‎ for some minutes in the free shuttle said they were impressed with his humility and expressed optimism that his government will be of immense benefit to them.
