The ondo state government has called for stakeholders involvement in the campaign that will enhance menstrual hygiene among young girls.
Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu made the call at an event to mark the 2018 World Menstrual Hygiene Day held at the Adegbemile Cultural Centre in Akure the Ondo state capital.
Represented by Secretary the State Government, Ifedayo Abegunde, the governor said his administration will continue to champion a healthy living for girls and women.
Addressing the gathering, chairman of of RUWASSA, Mrs Yetunde Adeyanju explained that the event is to educate the young girls here on proper menstrual hygiene management.
It was a day of long speeches as speaker after speaker dwell on importance of proper menstrual hygiene management and its implications for the girl child.
Goodwill messages on the occasion centred on the need for a conducive environment that will assist students to care for their period as the chairman of OSRC and orange FM, Mr Kunle Adebayo pledged his stations readiness to propagate menstrual hygiene campaign.
