Mimiko Returns to Labour Party, says PDP has lost focus


The immediate past Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko has said that the Labour party which he has re- joined is his political home.




Dr Mimiko, said this on Thursday, at the Adesaonye Civic Centre, when he declared for Labour party as his new political party, after tendering his resignation letter as  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member.


According to him, “I give all glory to God who has made it possible for me to be here today and declare for Labour Party, which I am rest assured to be my political home”.


He said further that, he has seen it from afar that the party is the only platform at which the Nigerians can achieve and actualise their dreams as future leaders.


He however said he decided to do what he did base on the fact that the political ideologies  of the existing political parties are no longer beneficial to the masses, which he said his new political party will surely provide for the common man.


Mimiko said he initially joined PDP to develop the people of the country but realised that the party eventually loose focus.


The party stalwarts who were in attendant included Abdulquadri Absalam , the party factional Chairman, the National Treasurer, Mrs Oluchi Opera, Labour party governorship Candidate in Ekiti State, Dr. Sikiru Taye Lawal and the former Commissioner for Works in the state, Engr. Gboye Adegbenro and host of others.
