A-day old baby was on Thursday found in a dilapidated building at Ayedun quarters in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
The baby girl was said to have been abandoned in the building by yet-to-be identified person.
Residents said they had to come the reduce of the baby to save her.
One of them, Mrs Victoria Oluwasegun said residents of the area woke up to see the baby dumped in the building.
One of the sympathizers who were seen crying told RichieNews that her sister stayed for 36 years without a child before she eventually died. The situation according to her is still affecting her aged mother mentally.
The baby girl has been taken to the hospital for medical care while officials of the ondo state ministry of women affairs had equally been contacted.
While some people are keeping vigil and going from one mountain to another, some who are freely blessed without sweat seem not to value the gift..
