The Chairman of Joint negotiating council in Ondo state, Mr Sunday Adeleye has dissociated himself from media reports that workers in the state will begin indefinite stike tomorrow just as the head of service Mr. Toyin Akinkuotu says outstanding deductions and May salaries would be paid before the week runs out.
They spoke with Journalists in Akure after a clsed door meeting between the labour leaders and government officials.
The JNC chairman Mr Adeleye said the reports of strike were the figment of writers' imagination noting that the Union gave 7 days Ultimatum last Monday and would lapse on Thursday because of public holidays on Friday and Monday.
He therefore said there was no justification for going on strike tomorrow
Mr Adeleye said government had agreed to pay March and April deductions and May salaries before the week run out.
He however said if government reneges on the promise workers would have no choice than to down tools.
Also the state chairman of NLC, Mrs Bosede Daramola said govenrnment has promised to pay March and April subventios to tertiary institutions before the week runs out.
The head of service, Mr Toyin Akinkuotu who said government places the welfare of ite workforce in high esteem said arrangement had been perfected to pay the outstanding salaries and deductions.
He said the state government is yet to get the bailout promised by the federal government.
