BEEN A PRESS STATEMENT BY THE EYITAYO's STUDENT CAMPAIGN TEAM
Sequel to the activities of this week where Student Leaders across Ondo State gave their support to the People's Democratic Party Canditate, Barrister Eyitayo Jegede (SAN). This support came after several consultations with the rank and file of the Student's Populace at different levels.
As expected, some dissected voices are beginning to rise up, some with funny. Organisational names that betrays emotional intelligence. They are beginning to question the rationale behind the Endorsement and continue to try to raise dust on a smooth tarred road. Impossible.
First it is interesting that had these crop of fine and refined Student's Leaders endorsed the Candidates of their party, there would not be cries of the 'Student's Movement should not be partisan' as we hear it these days from this disgruntled elements. It can thus be drawn facts that these elements simply want to be Mischievous or are out of touch with realities in the State currently
Secondly, There is no Candidate currently in the race who has been Student friendly and has more Student's Programmes as Eyitayo Jegede. An Example is the Annual Mock Law Competition sponsored by Eyitayo Jegede in Adekunle Ajasin University. As at current without making any noise about it, Jegede sponsors over 150 Ondo State Student's studying Law across the country.
Thirdly, For the past Eight years, As Attorney General of the State, he has maintained a non-partisan role in the case of Student's Victimisation and has helped frame a Legal battle for several Ondo State Student's facing Victimisation in some States for been the Vanguard of Struggle.
While, there are several reasons why Eyitayo Jegede already has the support of the Student Community, We have picked the ones dear to our heart and have thus pledged our support.
We thus appeal to members of the Student's Community who have not aligned with the Canditature of Barrister Eyitayo Jegede to do so as this is the only way to guarantee unprecedented development in the Education sector.
