'Poverty leads people to establish churches today, will be difficult for CAN to regulate'--Agape founder, Adejumo

Poverty has been identified as one of the factors leading people to establishing churches in Nigeria today.

The founder of Agape Christian Ministries, Bishop Felix Adejumo made this assertion yesterday during his visit to the News department of the Ondo State Radiovision Corporation, OSRC, Akure.

It was the usual Monday editorial meeting of the department and they were about rounding off when the man of God strolled in with aura of divinity to just say hello.

But trust the Inquisitive journalists, they refused to allow the man if God leave without taking him up on socio-spiritual issues that have dominates the front burner of the country's discourse in recent times.

On the proliferation of churches, the bishop maintained that the development is a fulfilment of the prophecy and it has engendered the propagation of the gospel.

He however acknowledged that some self-prophezed men of God are now establishing churches for the prime purpose of taking care of their bellies.

On the gospel possible regulation, the renowned preacher feared that the task may not be a achievable because of leadership structure.

Another issue is the controversial payment of tithe what has continue to raise dust among some men of God and social critics.
Bishop Adejumo opined that payment of tithe is mandatory for all believers as commanded by God in the holy scriptures.

The exorbitant fees charges by faith bases tertiary institutions was also tables before the august visitor.

He said those institutions are contributing to the growth of the country's educational system and must not be condemned for charging high fees because their target market are those who can afford it.

While congratulating OSRC on the feat recorded within the short time of come back, Bishop Adejumo tasked workers not to be limited by some identified challenges to make a difference.

According to him, "Nigerians should cultivate the right attitude to work for the realization of an egalitarian society where basic life necessities abound".

Responding, the Director of News and Current Affairs, Miss Nike Busari who described the visit as divine and not accidental concluded  that it signifies the presence of God in the department and the corporation.

The man if God crowned his visit with prayers for OSRC's news department, the corporation, Ondo state and Nigeria in general.
