Ondo govt upgrades Kaadi Igbeayo to standard residency card

The Ondo state government is to rebrand and upgrade the Kaadi Igbeayo to a residency card that will enable residents enjoy more dividends of democracy.

As part of strategic plan to actualize this, all Programme Analysts, Data Processing Officers & other concerned cadres in the State Information Technology Agency are currently undergoing intensive training on digit & data entry.

Declaring the training open, SSA to the Gov on ICT & the Coordinator of SITA Mr. Olumbe Akinkugbe informed that the modified card when completed will contain basic information such as medical records, occupation, properties, evidence of tax payment, family history of holders.
According to him, such basic but vital information will assist govt in proper planning, revenue generation & adequate security of lives and property.
Earlier, Administrative Secretary of the Agency Mrs Olubunmi Omotola charged the officers to brace up & take the assignment with all the seriousness it deserves as govt will depend heavily on data & information to be generated by them.
She directed them not only to be thorough, courteous, diligent but pay attention to details as majority of those who will be appearing b4 them for the new registration will be elderlies, artisans & traders who deserves decent treatment & better explanation.
At the technical session, the resource person, Mr Wole Adeyemi shocked the participants when he revealed that all the 612,944 cards registered by the last administration under Kaadi Igbeayo are without residential addresses & photographs.
According to him, 43,000 of the cards are equally without mobile phone lines while 23,000 are without surnames therefore rendering them invalid. He however rekindled  hope that holders of the cards can represent the for update .
