Small businesses key to Nigeria's growth, says Osinbajo *launches MSME clinic in Akure*

The vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo says having a strong small businesses is a way Nigeria can grow expeditiously. 

Professor Osinbajo spoke at the Palace of the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo when he paid a homage to the traditional ruler. 

The vice president was in Akure, the Ondo State capital to launch Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises clinics.

Prof. Osinbajo arrived Akure, the Ondo State capital on board of the the Nigerian Air Force presidential flight which touched down at the Akure airport at 2:31 Pm.

The vice prsident is in the state to launch the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises clinics. 

Professor Osinbajo and his team was received by the state governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, members of the state executive council and security chiefs.

The state governor later introduced member of his cabinet. 

A combined team of Nigerian Army, DSS, police and civil defence  were on ground to ensure security. 
The state cultural troupe was on hand at the airport to add colour. 

Immediately after the arrival, the vice president visited the palace of the Deji of Akure, oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo to pay homage. 

Oba Aladetoyinbo said gthe community loves the vice president and would keep supporting him. 

He requested that an Akure indigene should be considered for a position on federal boards and establishment of a teaching hospital. 

The traditional ruler also wanted the federal government to attend to the blackout being experienced in southern part of the state.

The vice president, professor Yemi Osinbajo assured the traditional ruler that all the requests are being looked into. 

While saying strong small businesses is a way Nigeria can grow expeditiously, the vice president said his visit to Akure was to find a way of building a strong economy through Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises 

Acknowledging the role of solar power in SMSE, professor Osinbajo said solar power would be installed at isinkan and NEPA markets to give electricity at affordable prices. 

The vice president is also billed to meet with beneficiaries of NPOWER initiative and take a look at free school feeding programme in the State.
