Academic activities will next month take-off at the Federal Polytechnic, Ile Oluji in Ondo state.

This followed the appointment of Prof. Adedayo Fasakin as the Rector of the polytechnic by President Goodluck Jonathan.

The ondo state governor Dr olusegun Mimiko made the announcement while presenting the new Rector to the people of Ile Oluji at the palace of Jegun of Ile Oluji, Oba Stephen Adedugbe .

Governor Mimiko urged the new Rector to use the appointment to translate into greater height the development of the institution.

The governor said, the appointment further confirms the commitment of president Goodluck Jonathan to the total transformation of the education sector in the country.

He said the people must show their appreciation through quantum of votes for Jonathan's re-election.

His appointment takes effect from April 1 2015.

Responding ,professor Fasakin said promised to make the institution a world class and reference point globally.

While soliciting the cooperation of the people in moving the polytechnic forward, the new Rector thanked governor Mimiko for his effort in citing the polytechnic at Ile oluji as well as his appointment as Rector.

Speaking on behalf of the Jegun of Ile Oluji Oba Suulade Adedugbe, the Lisa of Ile oluji, high Chief Fagbamiye thanked the governor for his love for the people of Ile oluji and assured of thier continued support for president Jonathan's re election.

Oba Adedugbe said those who have been writing negative report concerning the establishment of the polytechnic have been put to shame.

Until his appointment, Prof. Fasakin was the deputy Vice Chancellor (academics) of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).
